London Zoo is located in the center of capital, right next to Hyde Park. Usually for London, it is easy to reach the zoo by underground. You just need to go Camden Town station, and there is a sign which will guide you on how to get to the right place.

The first thing that makes a good impression is that at the entrance there are people who are extremely polite. Their job is to direct visitors and answer their questions. The entrance fee may seem high for some – 18 pounds for adults, but there are discounts – if you are two, you can get a single ticket for the same price.

The London Zoo is one of the best attractions in the UK and is the oldest in the world scientific zoo. It opened on April 27, 1828 and in 1847 became a public attraction. It can be found in the heart of London in Regent’s Park and is managed by the Zoological Society of London. Today its the territory of 36 acres is home to more than 15,000 representatives of over 750 species.

The London Zoo hosts the first opened terrarium (1849) Aquarium (1859), insects room (1881) and children’s zoo. Its territory is divided into themed areas, including “Aquarium”. “Tropical Paradise”, “African Bird Safari,” “Butterflies’ paradise,” “Giants of the Galapagos” (turtles from the Galapagos Islands), African, Gorillas, snow playground and countless more small and large spots. Penguin colony exhibition is stunning, also.

In the Aquarium you will see many beautiful fish. In this section you will find lots of information for the species, which is worth reading. The Gorillas section is one that deserves to be seen. The gorillas are so friendly to visitors that surely will show how close they are to humans.

It would be great if you can visit the zoo, in some of the special day such as “Meet the Monkeys” day. You may have the chance to play with the monkeys, because in this day the cells are open and they can walk around.

The zoo is very well suited for people with disabilities.

There are many restaurants and cafes in the area, but the prices are inflated because of the large number of attractions around, and the influx of tourists.

Address: Outer Circle Regent’s Park London NW1 4RY, United Kingdom
This colossal gallery of modern art has no equivalent anywhere in the world. The objects and expositions the art there were created after 1900. All are housed in the building of completely renovated and refurbished power station on the south bank of the River Thames in London.

With the creation of Tate Modern the two Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron have created the largest art gallery in the world for a place that is rather unusual for the British capital. For centuries, there is conditionally division between northern and southern shores of the Thames.

Since Roman times the north of the River Thames was an area of temples and religious traditions, while people in the southern part were given on a binge, theater and feasting. During the Industrial Revolution the south bank of the river has become a manufacturing center. Only in recent decades it began to merge with the northern aristocratic part of the metropolis, home to famous landmarks such as the National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe.

In recent years, at the south side of the river was built the Thames Path, which is a wonderful place for walking to west or east. The easiest way to Tate Modern can be reached by the bridge “Millennium”, the first bridge entirely made for pedestrians. This is the first made facility of its kind over the Thames from almost 100 years.

In the huge size museum can be entered from the west entrance, where the first room where you will find yourself is called. turbine hall, which is massive and impressive. It houses special exhibitions that change every 6 months. The vast space makes possible to exhibit large structures of modern art. The museum is built on a total of 5 floors and the third and fifth level are permanent collections, and among them on the 4th level some temporary exhibitions are shown.

The interesting in this largest museum of its kind is that exhibitions are organized not by timesbut themes of the works. Here you can see works of cubism, impressionism, surrealism, pop-art works and interesting multimedia masterpieces.

For visitors the entrance at Tate Modern is free and unlimited for permanent exhibitions only. For the temporary exhibitions every visitor has to pay for a ticket.
