Undoubtedly this is one of the most interesting museums in London. Many wax figures of celebrities are gathered in the galleries of the museum – “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “World Leaders”, “The Royal family”, “History of London”.

Here you can participate actively in the life of the stars – you can play tennis with Andy Murray, enter one of the rooms in the Big Brother’s house, or give David Beckham a yellow card. And this is possible thanks to interactive special effects used in the museum. Or just take pictures of yourself next to people like Drew Barrymore, Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Barack Obama, etc. And if you are not afraid, go to the Chamber of Horrors where you will see some serial killers.

The music industry is represented by the figures of Bob Marley, Justin Timberlake, Kylie Minogue and many others. The visitors even have the opportunity to partner or compete with the stars, and may even win a prize for this.

There are many attractions that will catch your attention but the “Spirit of London” will bring you back in London’s history. There are moving and audio animated wax figures. You will see and hear Shakespeare as he write and recite his works. You will be personally welcomed by Queen Elizabeth in her home, as well as smell the Great Fire of London in 1666, destroyed almost the entire city.

The history of the museum begins in the far 1761, when in Strasburg is born Marie Grosholtz. Her mother works with doctor Phillippe Curtius, who studied anatom by making human wax figures. He is Marie’s first teacher. She later becomes popular as Madame Tussauds.

A few months before the French Revolution, she was invited by Louis XVI, himself, at Versailles, where he teaches her art. During the Revolution, Marie made wax masks of the faces of beheaded aristocracy. Later on she exhibits her work.

Her marriage with François Tussaud took her to England, where for 30 years she traveled and shows her work, which became known worldwide.

After 1835 she settled in London, where the first permanent exhibition of Madame Tussauds in Baker Street building was established. In 1884., few decades after her death, the Madame Tussauds museum was moved at “Marylebone” stree where today people are enjoying it.

Most impressive is certainly the hall devoted to dinosaurs, which has presented a model of a huge T.rex as well as skin fossil from Edmontosaurus.

Particularly interesting is the museum for children, because there they can remember what they taught in Biology and Anatomy classes through a number of practical educational tools and creative activities.

Your baggage will be inspected upon entering the museum. Тo see the whole museum you need at least 3 days. Note also that there is a large crowd almost every day.

It is established in 1852 and its aim is to inspire the British designers and producers. The idea was of prince Albert’s who decided that the earnings of the world’s exhibition in 1951 will be for buying building for museum in south Kensington.

Today it is home of over four million exponents presenting the development of different cultures around the world. There are European, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Islamic items ranging from ceramics, glass, metalwork, sculptures to the costumes, armor, weapons and furniture in its stunning collection. Among the best known collections are: Theatre Galleries, sackler for art and education, and “Middle Ages and Renaissance” (opened in 2009.).

In the rooms devoted entirely to Britain, visitors can trace the development of art and design in the empire from 1500 to 1900. Here is the first produced fork in the world – from 1632. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

In the Museum of Victoria and Albert you will see an impressive collection of Oriental decorative arts, fashion and jewelry, which covers the period from 17th century to today, metalwork, and more than 14,000 pieces of furniture from the UK, continental Europe and America who date from the medieval times until today.

The collections in the museum are so varied that it is difficult to identify the most important. As if the favorite among visitors are those halls which casts the most famous European sculptures and monuments. In the late 19th century, when few people were lucky and able to travel across the continent, these castings were very popular way to show some achievements of culture and art from Europe. Among other things, here you can see replicas of the famous column of Trajan, located in Rome, the Gate of Victory of Santiago de Compostela, and quite successful copy of the sculpture “David” by Michelangelo.
The museum building itself is also a landmark. Victorian style with elements of the Edwardian era.

The imposing facade is 220 meters high , made of red brick and Portland cement, designed by Aston Web in 1891. as addition to the main building. The construction has been raised for ten years – from 1899 to 1909.

Architects today define Web’s design as eclectic. Most parts carry a whiff of the Renaissance, while the building is in medieval style. Arches, supported by Roman columns are definitely classic. A tower above the main entrance reminds those built in the Gothic period, particularly in Scotland. Inside the preferred material is marble.

Victoria and Albert museum is one of the few that remained almost untouched by the bombings during World War II. Renovations began in 1960. Then a new wing dedicated to Henry Cole was added, and in 1990, 2001 and 2010 many other galleries were found.

In the Science museum you can make great gymnastics of the brain and have fun with provocative games. At the exhibition “Space and Culture” you will see a map of the moon, old telescopes, one of which has helped the discovery of Uranus, and other interesting things.

Founded in 1892, the Science Museum was originally envisioned a mix of artifacts donated by the Royal Society of Arts and the World Exhibition of 1857, but now houses a unique collection of thousands of technological inventions, collected over more than 100 years.

There is even an IMAX 3D cinema. The screen is higher than four double-decker buses, lined up on each other. These dimensions and high quality definately will make you feel like you are at the event. A real journey from the era of the industrial revolution until today.

The Science useum is next to Victoria and Albert and the Natural History Museum. However, do not expect to see three museums for several hours. Even only 5 floors of the Science Museum will take you all day. The interesting thing here is that each floor examines technology and science from a different aspect, using interactive displays and information. There are vehicles and space research on the ground floor. The first floor is devoted to food, gas, metals and structured communications. On the second floor you can learn about nuclear energy, printing and computing. The third is devoted to photography and optics and the last two stories focus on the medicine.

Total exponents are over 300 000 and are divided into the following sections: “World Cultures”, “Toys and hobbies”, “Social History”, “Science and Technology”, “Natural sciences” “Medicine”, “Land and maritime transport”, ” Inland waterways”, “Industry”, “Fine Arts”, ” Cinema and Media”, “Design, Costume and Textiles”, “Coins and medals”, “Aviation”, “Archives”, “Agriculture”.

Returning from Tower Bridge you should stop at the next important landmark. Beautiful palace with a lovely lawn and square in front, but like most of the English Antiquities it is pretty depressing. There is why – it performed the role of a prison.

With so many important places in England it is believed that the Tower of London is the new hot spot. It is easily located, raises great curiosity and anybody may even slightly relax here enjoying the beautiful views of the River Thames.

Something else – where you will see palace, prison, old weapons and treasures of kings and queens in one place?

Very important people for the world history have spent time in prison here and then sentenced to death. For example, for the last time there was even sentences performed by the fanatic Hitler.

Take a walk and pictures with the local guards, which are quite attractive and competent. Prepare if you’re lucky to see one of the most valuable diamonds and jewelry in the world. It is possible someone of the exhibits not to be there or to be closed for security reasons. In Tower of London you can see the furniture and even the beds of the royals.

The palace is filled with many towers, the White Tower, the Tower of Jail and many others. Briefly, there are many things that you can see. Before entering read the important sights just to be sure not to miss something.

It was established in 1989 and claims to be the 1st museum of modern design. The Design Museum is the world’s greatest museum dedicated to modern design in all forms from furniture to artwork, and architecture to industrial design. Exhibitions present both the richness of the creativeness to be found in all forms of design, and its importance.

In 2007 the Times newspaper listed the museum as number 2 in UK’s top five museums of the year.
